Sustainability and an Environmentally Friendly Approach

AGRITECHNICA places great emphasis not only on technological innovations but also on organizing an environmentally friendly event. Sustainability principles are at the forefront of AGRITECHNICA 2025, the world’s largest agricultural fair. DLG takes conscious steps in areas such as energy, waste management, logistics, transportation, and catering by focusing on climate, environment, and resource-friendly practices during the organization of AGRITECHNICA.

AGRITECHNICA 2025 and WeReforest Collaboration

Through its partnership with WeReforest e.V., AGRITECHNICA supports the creation of climate-friendly forests. €1 from each ticket sold and €0.50 from every square meter of rented exhibition space will be donated to establish sustainable mixed forests. Additionally, environmentally friendly tickets called Green Tickets contribute to a tree-planting project.

This collaboration offers participants and visitors the opportunity to reduce their ecological footprint through the creation of climate-friendly “mixed forests.”

Sustainable Exhibition Grounds in Hannover

AGRITECHNICA 2025 also stands out with its sustainable exhibition ground management:

• An environment surrounded by 160,000 m² of lawn, 90,000 m² of wooded areas, and 3,824 trees.
• 94% of waste is recycled, and hazardous waste and surplus materials are properly disposed of.
• 100% green energy usage in all exhibition halls, with a planned transition to LED lighting only by 2025.
• A paperless ticketing system minimizes the environmental footprint, with digital services preferred extensively.
• Certified food services: Menus are prepared with regional and seasonal products, compliant with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 standards.
• Smart transportation and energy systems: Green energy derived from 100% hydroelectric power (saving 18,000 tons of CO2 annually).
• Reusable stand materials: LED lighting and carpet tiles used in exhibition stands are reused in multiple events.
